Cimarrona Campground is a hidden gem. Most visitors to the area seek out Williams Creek or Teal Campgrounds. But many visitors aren't even aware of Cimarrona's presence. Located further down Piedra Rd, north of Williams Creek Reservoir, Cimaronna is tucked away in a series of Aspens and Ponderosa's. It's a very peaceful and quiet campground. Across the entrance road is access to the Cimarrona Trailhead - an 8.6 mile trail that takes you up to the Continental Divide. During a weekday, you can often grab some of the prime spots in Cimarrona. While it doesn't have the views that Teal has, it does offer many shaded spots next to a creek.
